Intoxalock

Customer ID: 161****...On February 20th I arrived at my house in my Tahoe that is equiped with an Intoxalock interlock device. I've had this equipment installed in my vehicle for 1 year and 3 months. I was only supposed to have it for 1 year but in August of 2023 I was called out of town on short notice only to arrive back into town on the last day left to have the device "calibrated". My service center closes at 5PM so I rushed there only to find that they had closed early. I arrived at 4:45PM. After a missed calibration you can't start so on the next day I loaded it onto a flatbed and had it towed to get calibrated. This earned me a 3 month extension. Ok, back to the 20th. Arrived at my house at 6:03PM and turned off the vehicle. I changed the wiper blades and went to hook up the trickle charger. I've never had battery problems before this device was installed but have had to replace 2 since then and now my current battery is on its last legs. I wanted to see if I could start the car after it had just been running so I engaged the handheld, blew zeros, and attempted to start. It clicked but failed to start. A couple more attempts were made with my jump pack but still wouln't start so I hooked up the charger and went inside my house for the evening. The next morning I went to start the car only to be greeted with a violation message. I thought this must be a mistake. I had just gotten it calibrated ($35) so I call intoxalock who informed me that their system had logged a misseed "rolling retest" or random retest. This is the test that occures after you start the vehicle and it randomly asks you for a sample to see if you are drinking while driving. According to their website (check their knowledge center) this is defined as: "A random (also known as random) retest requires drivers to provide breath samples while the vehicle is running. They're required with all state-certified ignition interlock devices." I explained that there must have been some kind of mistake. I wouldn't miss a retest, I know exactly how this thing works and wouldn't risk missing one this close to my 180 compliance. They told me what time it happened. It was exactly when I was trying to jump the car. I explained the situation and that the car was never on. I'm not going to expect a random test if it's not even running unless I've just turned it off at the same time it asked for one. I have spoken to multiple reps pleading to have this violation removed as this is not something covered in their own handbook and website. They refuse to budge and tell me I must start my 6 months all over again. I've contacted the licensing department who tell me they only go by what the company tells them and intoxalock tells me only the licensing department can make that decision. I'm at a total loss. I do ok with my income but I can not imagine how most people could absorb this kind of finacial impact. 6 days left and they hit me with a violation that will cause me to have this in my vahicle for almost two years if nothing else goes wrong. I've contacted the state police to see if they are willing to help as they are the regulating authority. I have video (with sound) of the time I arrived home to the time I went inside my home that shows that I was unable to get my car to start back up once I arrived. I also took a video from inside the vehicle today which shows how the system will fail to acknowledge the vehicle being off with the keys out and still trigger a rolling retest. I will write a new review every day for each additional day I have this device installed. If you are reading this review and are finding yourself in a similar situation. I encourage you to write your own review here on Trustpilot to warn others about choosing Intoxalock. You do have a choice. Anyway, I have a date with small claims court. Watch your backs and your wallet. Do not choose Intoxalock. P.S. There is no way in *** they get 5 star reviews. I'd bet money that the Indian call center they use for their customer service is also paid to write those which goes against this websites terms of service.

Just report them to the Better Business Bureau. Help@***.com is a joke. Their inbox is full and they reject your emails. Customer service is only good when you are paying and setting up your device. You'll never speak to a human besides that ever again. My device was to be taken out in October 2023 and it's not half way through December 2023. They are still taking my money biweekly, still making me calibrate the device. Still can't get ahold of a human. I have put in multiple device removal requests. I have called customer service to deal with a robot. I have called the state, my lawyer and even the judge to be told "call customer service". Since my device was installed, my lights go on at random times. I'm an asthmatic and I have almost died while driving multiple times breathing 3 or 4 times in a row into the machine because "breathe harder next time". You can't auto start your vehicle or be away from it in winter so you'll freeze until your car warms up and you can take off. I highly do not recommend this company or this device.

My review of intoxalock is that it is simply after as much money as they can get from you, and it has zero to do with public safety or drinking and driving. If it was about drinking and driving they would not let you retest after a failed breathalyzer and in 4 minutes time allow you to drive once you blow zeros. Mind you every time you have a failed breathalyzer it is gonna cost you $75.00 dollars in my case. God forbid you get in your car and turn your key on before blowing in their machine, why, because that is a violation that is gonna cost you $75.00 dollars. You know the definition of extortion is as follows: -- the act of colleting something especially money trough force or threats. They have you by the b$lls, because the future of your drivers license is in their hands. While I agree that it was my fault committing the act of drinking and driving and maybe my case is different than most because I am completely sober, and have been for 13 years, so while I had the breathalyzer installed there would be no way for me to have a failed breathalyzer, right? Wrong. Body spray, listerine, you name it sets that machine to read a failed breathalyzer. So what does the company decide its policy is. Well the machine allows you to try again in approx 4 minutes time and when you pass your car will then start. So when your car starts 4 minutes later after a bad breathalyzer a reasonable person could conclude that it was something other than you drinking alcohol that set the machine off and that should be then end of it right? Wrong, it's $75.00 and a lock out everytime something like this happened. Clearly Intoxalock is about the all mighty dollar, and they hold your drivers license hostage until you pay all of their "fees". I am currently trying to close my account with them as my lease with them was up on December 27th, 2023, and my requirement with Arizona MVD was up on the following day December 27th I paid my account to a zero balance. A ZERO balance, and now intoxalock is saying I owe them 151.98 for admin closing fees and additional lease payments because my service center was closed over the holidays and I could not get the device removed. So I did what the intoxalock agent told me to do and that was to put my car in Service( which by the way creates a lock out and costs $75.00 dollars), but they don't tell you that. My service center could not remove the equipment until Jan 17, 2024. So I scheduled the earliest appointment he had available and had the equipment removed. Intoxalock is trying to charge me for the equipment being in my car until then even though they had me on lockout and the car and equipment were unusable. I am just beside myself because now they are threatening to turn me into collections if I don't resolve the account. I will not give them one red cent more as they have squeezed me for enough money through their violations and fees. I have tried to contact them 6 different times now to resolve their issue and have been hung up on and put on hold for an hour or more. The business practices of intoxalock are shameful, and this company is clearly all about the money. Extortion is what it is. I live in a rural town so I am limited in my options, but I do not suggest anyone sign up for this kind of abuse. I give them a zero star rating and thats to much. I reported Intoxalock to the Better Business Bureau and they are waiting for my final response to them about my entire experience with this company and I intend to follow through with it. what happened what happened is they are continuously stealing my money I have to get an attorney I am going to love suing them whoever created this dangerous hurtful embarrassing device should be ashamed I had a DUI for marijuana in Massachusetts back in the late 90s then a DUI in Colorado which was a car accident the driver ran I did not I was young I just pled guilty because they said I could just clean a recreational hall I paid 6500 to the Registry then I paid them another 2000 to get my license now I have to pay well over 10,000 disgusting rotten dirty scoundrel people

Mouthpieces fall off while sucking back because they Make them so that happens the mouthpieces get misty. Also they are made so that happens. Never mind the unsafe device God forbid you have to turn the steering wheel And drop it everything the IID is a scam. Those are my major three reasons why I am always flunking and having to pay a lot extra Ive had my license revoked three times and never ever once blew anything 000.!!!

I started my car one morning and everything was fine. We got a little snow the night before, but I had already cleaned off my car prior to starting it. Once it started I had a little snow on passenger window, so I hopped out walked around the front of my car wiped the window with my hand and looked inside my car. There is a countdown happening with 2 min. And some odd seconds on the handheld. I rush to driver seat pick up the handheld and wow with 1 min and something on the timer the screen goes blank. So I drive off not knowing what happened and the following day I get a $75 lockout. Can I please know what I did wrong?? I was out of the car for 30-40 seconds max!! .so this is nothing but a money pit. But ya know once you have a DUI you are a criminal so nobody cares. This device should be in court for fraud. its sickening someone getting rich on other's misfortune. Plenty more I could add but nobody listens.

So there *** machine went to *** on me today. They said call the road side assistance and so I did and they tell me I have to pay for the tow out of my pocket and I told them *** no it's your fault that I can't drive my truck. So if we are going to pay for road side assistance better pay for it all since it's your equipment

I have two DUIs 1988, 1996 I no longer drink I have had Intoxalock for 10 months it has cost me over $4000 the RMV Is forcing me to keep it for four years It is designed to drain you mentally physically and financially I am beyond a pissed consumer, never mind how dangerous it is to try to blow, then suck and then blow again on a highway or in traffic I have not drank in 16 years I can prove it today is the day that I have decided to continue to just drive on revocation. I cannot afford this anymore. If I get caught I get caught I dont care. Im done with talk a lot its a scam rotten scam. Also, I paid the Registry over $10,000 just for my license. I can prove that too.

Can't get a hold of a human. No option on the menu. Total rip off. Terrible customer service. Every time I call the answering service just hangs up!!

They installed a camera that NM goes not require yet Paradise Village still installed it. Now I have a split in my windshield needs replacement. Intoxalock is dragging their feet even when I forward all the necessary documents. They haven't called me back in two days

I got mine put on 10/06/2018. I have to have mine on for 10 years. Between the *** that install it and the system itself flawed like no other, I think this whole company needs shut down. I've had 3 or 4 violations in 6 years so far not because of my own negligence, but because these things are Not made to be in a car all year round with weather conditions varying. I'm on my 2nd machine that I had to pay for a second one installed because they're equipment is garbage. Straight garbage. I have days where I push the button and it doesn't even work or come on for like 5 minutes. The first 3 years I had to jump start my car at least 5 times a day anytime I wanted to go somewhere because between they're cheap *** computer system which isn't built for sitting in a car through heat and cold conditions (wrapping it in a blanket or not) or the people installing it dont have a clue on what they're doing. Sometimes I go to do a reblow and it doesn't even acknowledge me blowing in it and says blow harder, try again. It's a joke. And it has driven me mental from the first year I've had it on there til now. I've had it on there 6 years and know the ins and outs of this stupid *** system and it is inaccurate. I don't drink anymore and haven't for years, I know the dos and don'ts of this stupid system and company. All they do is scam you for more money constantly. And then when you call for help, there's nothing they can do and they understand. Intoxalock you don't understand *** Until you've been constantly paying for your dues nonstop continuously and it's not even my fault it's happening...get *** Your whole company should be shut down cause it's all *** I understand paying my dues but when I am constantly having to pay more because your system isn't working they way it's suppose to, it's wrong. You people are *** and you're *** people over when they're already trying to fix their lives. Because your system doesn't work properly i have to keep paying more? Get ***

Calling this company is a joke. No one can assist. Sales lie to you. Flat out lies. The add additional charges before you sign the lease. You ask for a review an no one cares.the took my money the said I have additional charges. Lock out my car with no explanation or assistance. The hold you hostage. Do not work with. Company no mater how bad your situation is.

after 5 years they will not remove my company from their wed listings and highjacked my google maps and apple maps i have submitted request after request and they will not remove me as a vendor maybe they wil see this and do the right thing

I have been trying to resolve their problem with installing a camera in my vehicle. NEW MEXICO does not require a camera in my vehicle yet Intoxalock installed one. Now I have a split in my windshield & they have not responded to my request & claim. I'm sick of their negligence. Do

Cannot get ahold of live person or even on line chat. JUST had device installed this am, they say I have a past due balance already!! I'm ready to call an attorney and have the *** put out of business. I couldn't make a payment if I wanted to because I have a new card number they don't have on file.
